17 May, 1942 I-28 under Yajima was sunk north of Rabaul at 06.30N x 152.00E by USS TAUTOG (SS 199)

17 May, 1942 I-64 under Niina was sunk in the Bungo Straits at 29.25N x 134.09E by USS TRITON (SS 201)

28 August, 1942 I-123 under Nakai was sunk off Guadalcanal at 09.21S x 160.43E by USS GAMBLE (DD 123)
