Here's the schedule: Fri, 24 Oct 1:00pm - rooms open for setup (both dealers & gamemasters) 1:55pm - opening ceremony
Sat, 25 Oct 8am - noon, Session 3
Sun 26 Oct 9am - 1pm, Session 6
There will be a number of significant events at this year's Hurricon. Howard Swanson, Jeff Lista, Hugh Downing, Dan Miller, and Hal Goff will be running the Armati Tournament in 15mm! 1st place, 2nd place, and Tourney Honorable Mention will receive intro armies provided by Wargames of Triadelphia. This year will also be the first year of the raffle. Each paid attendee will receive one raffle ticket and raffle tickets will be awarded to players and gamemasters as reward for other significant contributions. On Sunday, immediately following the Awards Ceremony will be the drawing. You need not be present to win, but your raffle ticket does (two ticket system-you keep one, one goes in the bowl). Put your ticket, with appropriate contact information in the cannot-attend-drawing bucket and if you win, your prize will be sent to you (trust us on this, no really). The drawing features prizes donated by Wargames, The Soldiery, and Regimental Colours (just to name a few). Our special guest this year is John Hill, author of Squad Leader, Johnny Reb, and most recently, Johnny Reb III. He'll be running ACW games throughout the convention to introduce players to his rules and make them aware of the intricacies of combat during that era. Thanks in advance to John for coming! Also, let me give a special thanks to the Gainesville Garrison for their commitment to Hurricon. Look for the PEL in this issue to answer any other questions you may have. Most importantly, pre-register and make your hotel reservations early. If the Hurricon staff can assist you in any way, let us know. The game rooms open at 1pm on Friday - you will not be able to set up any earlier. On a side note: If you have registered as a gamemaster, but have not paid your pre-registration fees, YOU ARE NOT PRE-REGISTERED (and consequently won't get the discounted entry fee)! To get the pre-registration savings, you must pay at least two weeks prior to the convention. All Hurricon participants will pay to get into the convention, NO EXCEPTIONS.
