The NASAMW Deep South DBA Championship was held at the HMGS South's RECON Gaming convention on Saturday April 24, 2004 in Tampa Florida. Fourteen players participated in this `Open' event using the DBA NICT format. A $3 entry fee was charged to cover trophy cost and RudyNelson of Time Portal Hobbies provided unpainted DBA armies for theChampion and Runner up. The participants and their armies were: Marv Schmid * Early Macedonian Successor Betsy Schmid * Early Macedonian Successor Pat Kurivial * Pyrrhic Stephen Quintero* Hittite Pat Rosato Early Carthage Rick Cundiff Late Roman Ed Page Polybian Roman Will Robinson Mongols Mark Stricker Western Franks Jim Dundorf Parthian Rick Parrish * Early Burgundian Doug Hawes Early Burgundian Bob Freeman * Feudal French George Zimmerman* Polybian Roman (*NASAMW member) After the preliminary games, four players advanced to the single elimination finals. 3rd/4th Doug Hawes and Pat Rosato who each won SIX dealer dollars to spend. 2nd Mark Stricker took home the Runner Up Cup and a Xystron Hoplite boxed army. 1st Pat Kurvivial took home the Championship trophy and an army of his choice from Time Portal Hobbies stock on hand at the show. Congratulations to Pat and all the other participants. Pat is now qualified to participate in the DBA NICT event at Historicon.
