Cannon Fodder Miniatures

Figure Reviews

review by Bill Moreno

28 mms tall - this is one of the line called Yangpat representing that turbulent period in Chinese history. The figures are beautifully sculpted.

Until recently I had never heard of this line of figures. I came upon this website as one of the links from the Garrison Clubs pages. I saw they had a Texas War of Independence line and intended to use some of the Texians as dismounted Texas Volunteers for my Monterrey game. I e-mailed the owner of the line, Gregory Blake, in Australia! I asked a few questions and placed my order. Gregory seems quite nice and answered all my questions. The figures arrived about ten days later. I can't say enough about such prompt service. Even when I order from some domestic sources it takes two-three weeks.

The figures I received were stunning in detail. There was no significant mold flash and very little in the way of mold lines. The bases were thin and sculpted as well. I was astonished by the weapons in particular. Greg's model 1835 US Smoothbore Flintlocks; are simply amazing. I had also ordered some extra weapons in a weapons pack for use as battlefield markers and litter. There were the aforementioned model 1835s and some shotguns and Kentucky long rifles. These were every bit as good as the figure castings. Details are superb on all the figures I purchased. I ordered a second group of figures from Gregory which arrived in the same timely manner.

Cannon Fodder weapons pack examples. You can order whichever weapons you like in customized groupings.

Figures are ordered individually and are cheap by US standards. I ordered around 10 figures and a weapons pack and ended up spending around $ 18.00 US with shipping included. If you love fine figures, you will love Cannon Fodder. They are well worth the price and the short wait while making their way from down under. My only complaint is that they don't make figures from more prominent conflicts. Included now are the Alamo line, Yangpat, some natives, colonials and Irish Uprising circa 1916. Find them online at:
