Progress Report

by Chuck Kennedy,
HMGS South president

As we prepare for elections of the BOD, I would like to take this opportunity to bring everyone up to date on the club's progress to date.

In the eight months since March, we have:

    1. Received approval for provisional status from the national BOD of HMGS.
    2. Gained 192 members, many of whom had never belonged to any chapter of HMGS.
    3. Established a chapter bank account with a balance in excess of $2200.00.(see copy, this issue)
    4. Planned and executed our first flagship convention, HURRICON.
    5. Began distributing this quarterly newsletter.

Although I am proud of my own contributions for these accomplishments, I would like to make it clear that many people were involved and that we could not have done all of these things without a lot of help. I would especially like to thank the members of your BOD for all the hard work they've contributed. They are (currently):

    Curt Dees- Vice President
    Jeff Lista-Treasurer
    Rhett Scott- Secretary
Paul Risner- Member liaison and legal counsel
    Dale Marcum- Member Liaison

I would also like to mention Doug Bohannon, who has been largely responsible for assembling and getting out our newsletter and other mailings.

As elections come up I would appreciate your consideration for myself and the standing members of the BOD.

THANKS!
