Included in this issue is the continuation of Jon Laughlin's Random Ancient Armies Generation tables. This is admittedly a subject about which I know little if anything. I am sure Jon is far more capable of answering any questions. In future issues will be Jon's two scenarios. He submitted these along with this article and I have yet to put them into soft copy. ABOUT THE AUTHOR OF CRIMEA David Louis Raybin is currently a lawyer living and practicing in the Nashville area. Although I didn't meet Mr. Raybin until NASHCON 96, I knew him from the 1960s when he was a subscriber to THE ARMCHAIR GENERAL as a high school student in the Richmond Virginia area. Even then he was attracted to what is now referred to as the era of "Rifle and Saber," i.e. the middle and late 19th century, which I had referred to as "The Age of Colorful Militarism" in TAG. David was perhaps Jack Scruby's best customer when Jack launched his 1" series of figures for the European Wars of 1848-1871. In more recent decades he has acquired and put to good use a variety of 25mm (not all millimeters being equal) figures particularly for the Crimean War but for others as well. For some years NASHCONs were blessed with his "alternate history" epics depicting European involvement in the War Between The States. If I remember correctly the Prussians, Austrians, and. Russians were with the Union, while France and England sided with the Confederacy-similarly, I think, to Harry Turtledove's novels. I hope HMGS SOUTH members will enjoy his colorful rules and articles.
