First up is the set of collector figures from Old Glory. Both are famous poses from Confederate Generals Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson (pictured above) and William Barksdale. I believe both are from the wonderftil Civil War paintings of artist Don Troiani. Troiani's works are well known by historians, gainers and reenactors alike. The figures were priced at $4.00 each for the Historicon show, but I am sure the prices will rise as they are limited ediitions. I liked both figures and purchased them for mounting and display, not for gaming. Both figures can be used as such with other large 28mrn figures. I do not care for the cast flag as they will warp with time on a figure of this size. The Barksdale figure is waving his hat and has no flag. I could see both figures being used in small scale actions such as Jackson in the Valley. With Old Glory, figures such as this are limited editions. Complaint My complaint with Old Glory is the diminishing quality of their figures once they enter full production. The quality of their Mexican American War figures are generally high as they are not produced in large numbers. However, the bags of their American Civil War figures is generally poor. There is mold displacement and a lot of flash. Mold lines are often so huge as to cause one to discard the figure as unusable. These figures are simply hit and miss. The bags they use for display only adds to the problem as bayonets and swords are more often then not, warped or broken. When compared to other 28mm manufacturers, their quality is low. These two figures are excellent as they are made with a large amount of pewter. This is not the case with the bagged figures.
