Well, here is my first complete issue of the BEST newsletter in all of HMGS, the Rebel Yell. I hope that you enjoy everything I bring to you in the future. Please feel free to contact me with any submissions and requests. Let me tell you a little bit about myself, your new Rebel Yell Editor & HMGS South Secretary. I'm a 29 year old Information Analyst at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. I've been gaming now for about 15 years with the last 10 being primarily miniatures oriented. My favorite period is the 18th century and favorite army would be my Prussian SYW Army from Editions Brokaw. About 3 years ago, a few friends and myself began forming the nucleus of a strong game group here in Gainesville now known as the Gainesville Garrison. You'll see how much we support miniature wargaming just by glancing a the PEL in this issue. I've really treasured all of my experiences with HMGS South to date and promise to give the Rebel Yell my best effort each issue. On to some important info you need to take advantage of: It's time for HURRICON! In this issue you will find the PEL, a registration form with Hotel Information, dealers who will be present, and the painting competition guidelines. Our special guest this year is the incredible Duke Siefried, one of the best showmen you will ever see at a convention. His games will captivate you. A bit of information about Uncle Duke is included in this issue thanks to Nick Zizo, the HURRICON 98 convention director. It's time we all started notifying our friends, families, and fellow enthusiasts about HMGS South, our dedication to the miniature hobby, and rapidly growing convention program. Fill out the registration form in this issue and get it to Nick as soon as possible and don't forget to reserve your room at the Best Western for our September 25th flagship convention, HURRICON! With $49 rooms, great dealers, and of course, awesome games, it's going to be a blast! See you there!
