On Saturday, July 20, 1996 at Historicon the national board of HMGS gave the official okey-dokey to HMGS South, confirming its provisional status as of March 1996.

GREETINGS FROM THE VP

I thought I'd use my space in this issue to pass along some important information about the upcoming coming convention "HURRICON." In no particular order they are:

1. Hotel reservations must be made by 10/25/96 to insure the special room rate of $49.00 per night. We encourage everyone to make them early, and make sure you tell them you're with HMGS South, HURRICON. We hope as many of you as possible will take rooms as our venue cost is the largest expense in our budget and the rate we are being charged is tied directly to the number of hotel rooms we occupy.

2. Anyone interested in running a game should contact the appropriate contact person listed on the flyer. Alternative games are welcome and wanted.

3. We encourage everyone to pre-register for the show. This will greatly speed things up at the registration desk. You will register for games at the convention.

4. Anyone interested in helping out at the convention should contact a BOO member and let them know. We do need help.

5. PASS THE WORD!!! In our short existence we certainly have not had time for everyone to find out about us. Let your friends know about the convention, we need all the help we can get.
