This message is a brief note, informing you of what took place at our meeting here in Jefferson City concerning the forming of a new group of gamers. We have decided to call ourselves "Missouri Confederation of Wargamers" We are a loose network of local gaming clubs who wish to pool our resources in order to produce quality gaming events in Missouri and the surrounding states. We ask for no dues, only your support in wanting to help keep wargaming alive and well in Missouri. There were representatives at the meeting from the following clubs: Mid-Missouri Armchair Generals, Big Muddy Gaming Alliance, Manhatten Maneuver Group, Lost Victories, Missouri Border Ruffians, HAHMGS, Wolfcall Games, and Tabletop Gamers. We also had a letter from Lion's Den supporting the idea. The meeting was quite enjoyable, food was excellent, and there was a positive atmosphere. We all agreed that if wargaming on a regional level is to continue that something like MCOW is needed. The way this is to work is this. Each club has a Point of Contact (POC) who will be responsible for contacting the members of their organizations. When there is going to be an event, the sponsoring club will contact the other groups within the network. Each group will be asked if they can contribute towards the success of the event. This can be in the form of presenting attendees, helping with the rent on halls, helping with the physical aspects of setting up the hall, deposits on buildings, etc. There is no required assistance, but I want to appeal to your sense of fair play, and ask you to help out your fellow gamers, if the need arises. After a time, the local clubs will hopefully be in a "need not" position in terms of financial help. We ask the sponsoring club to pay back the money lent to them first then any proceeds will be kept by the sponsoring groups. If there is a loss, then each group will evenly "Suck up" the loss. In addition to this, the confederation will try to help to coordinate events to help space these out so that each clubs activities will be the most successful. We will act only as an advisory council. Our aim is to suggest and help, never to demand. I know that there is no infallible system, and that this is not perfect. But I believe it will work, given the support that I ask you to lend to it. I imagine we will have to make some changes. And I assume that there will be some that choose not to follow, this is expected. However given the past year, and all the turmoil that has happened. I saw a lot of fellowship in the meeting. ALL the clubs attending were received very well, and I see us having a very popular gathering. We all agreed to work together. The Mission statement for the organization is as follows.
Below are listed the POC that volunteered at the meeting. Please feel free to contact them as you wish. Or feel free to contact me. Thanks for listening. Point of Contact for MOCOW:

Lion's Den Wargamers would like to have attended this meeting but the convenience of modern communications rendered it an unnecessary trip. We support the idea of a local network and this project has a lot of energy behind it! Good luck MOCOW. I personally would have liked a different name. We talked up the idea of the Emerald City Chapter of HMGS. Or ECHMGS as in Electronic Chapter. Hopefully our hobby will grow on this new electric medium of the Internet.
