(Here begins the story of the Senators.)
Kip found Vilef's company waiting at the base of the tower hidden passage. He took the lead. After going up several flights of stairs, Kip found the panel and switch that led to the detention cell room. "Good thing I used to play in these passages as a boy!" he thought to himself...
Vilef sprang into the room with his sword positioned for a lightning fast thrust. In jumped Keri right behind him. They discovered a dark eight foot wide hallway with steel barred doors on either side. The hallway ended with a 10 foot high steel door. Keri located a set of keys hanging on the main door frame. Vilef advanced to listen at the end door while Keri got the keys and started to quietly open the cell doors. Soon, Rollvag's ghost warriors entered also.
With three doors open, some of the senators and their families woke up and began talking. "Who's there?" asked one of the prisoners.
"Have you come to rescue us?" asked another.
"Oh, they've come to execute us." sobbed another still.
Those in the hallway hissed "Quiet!!!" and put their fingers to their lips. It was too late. One of the Drog guards shouted through the main door. "Pipe down in there!!" Meanwhile, Artan went to the main door to guard it with Vilef, who seemed to be in a trance of some kind...
Finally, all the doors were open and the families filed out. Kip had tears in his eyes. Keri noticed that his royalty pendant had a faint violet glow. Also, one of the senators seemed very unsteady because of a head wound. Two of the Ghosts got on either side of him and helped him through the passage. It looked like they would get out before being discovered...
Suddenly, a huge Drog warrior threw the jail door aside: "What's going on in..." Before he could even finish, Artan hit him viciously in the neck with his hand. The big guard slumped to his knees gasping for breath as Vilef closed the door. Another guard called out: "Dula, What's wrong?...Dula?" At that very moment, only Artan, Keri, and Vilef were left in the room...
