Dixon Miniatures Wild West 25mm figures, available from Spring Grove Mills, Linthwaite, Huddersfield, W. Yorkshire, HD7 5QG or Wargarnes, Box 278, Route 40 East, Triadelphia, W.V. 26059, USA Dixons gallop on to the Western sunset! First: Mexican Peasants or Peons WG76 Peon charging, raised machete. Shades of "The Magnificent Seven!" The peons defend themselves!! WG77 Peon charging with mattock (a big hoe). He's not looking for weeds either! A good athletic pose. WG78 Peon at ready with scythe. Not thinking about cutting grass. I have one of these and the blade is as long as your arm. Also used by Poles in the 19th century as a weapon. They turned them into spear-like weapons, dispensing with the two handles from the snaith. Mexican Bandidos! MWG17 Turning firing revolver, shirtsleeves and gamuzas. Gritting his teeth and scowling. MWG18 Brandishing revolver, short jacket and gamuzas. Gamuzas are the Mexican version of "chaps," leg defenders against cactus and other spiky bushes. Wild West Poker Set! Includes table, 4 chairs, and 4 poker players (E4.95 at time of writing). Scene of so many shootouts in so many Westerns - here they are to the life! - well, lead alloy anyway. WWA3 Assorted luggage, including "strongbox" (fl.25). You all need a strongbox - full of Wells Fargo gold! Plus a large strapped suitcase and two smaller boxes. WWA4 Campfire with assorted pots and pans (fl.25). Another stock-in-trade of any western scenario pots & pans for the beans, bacon and coffee! Wagon and Stagecoach Personnel WG70 Seated driver - shirtsleeves. Looks like Gabby Hayes of old Westerns fame. Dour chap for what could be a dour job, hard and dangerous work. WG71 Man bending to pickup barrel -without base for use with buckboard wagon. He wears a bib& brace and "porkpie" hat. WG72 Man lifting barrel - as on to wagon. Waistcoat, wide brimmed hat. Good action pose. WG73 Shotgunner seated firing - waistcoat (no head variant). Usually the first casualty (in films). Good aiming pose. WG74 Man seated firing .45 -as out of stagecoach window (no head variant). Excellent aim -eye right behind the straight arm. WG75 Man seated - as if on top of stagecoach - firing Winchester rifle. He's not firing, he's looking right with the butt of the weapon in his lap. As ever, these are well modeled and cast - no flash as usual. I shall draw some of these, not to scale: More Barnes Reviews:
