Here comes "the heavy mob." These are the last spearmen in this intriguing range. I will do as I usually do, list the figures, comment, and draw some, not to scale.

Heavy Infantry

T40 Six heavy infantry in Dendra bell armour advancing with level spears (5 pounds). The Dendra armour is called so after the place where it was found as grave goods, near Mycenae. It was discovered in 1960. In his book "Greek Armies" (Macdonald Educational, 1977, ISBN 0 356 055 809), Peter Connolly says (p. 13), This panoply probably belonged to a chariot warrior. It is far too cumbersome for an infantry man." Also on p. 10 ibid., Connolly says, below an illustration of a Dendra armed warrior, "He probably did not carry a shield." The fact that the guy looks like an articulated letterbox gives one an idea why! All these chaps have shield slings cast on and are supplied with "Tower" shields and spears for their open hands. They all have a sword sheathed at their sides and plumed helmets.
T41 Six heavy infantry in Dendra bell armour standing ready with spear at 45ø. Tower shields and spears supplied.
T42 Six heavy infantry in Dendra bell arrnour standing with upright spear.
TX8 Hector, prince of Troy and war leader of the Trojans in a chariot with a driver, in scale amour with a round shield and spear, with a running shield bearer. The horses in this pack have been modelled with a good cantering action and the figures animated to match. These chariot kits, well based and painted, could grace any collector's cupboard, let alone the wargames table. The shield bearer has a flying east on his helmet which helps the animation (6.50 pounds).
TX23 Heavy or command chariot, four horses, soldier in Dendra armour, archer, standard bearer and driver (8.50 pounds). You get "the works" here - and I suppose some wargamers will want squadrons of them. I remember a convention wargame table with "wall to wall" armoured vehicles! - however most of us will use this as a "special" G.O.C.I.C. vehicle, probably. The general is the Dendra aroured figure, the driver really looks as if he has his hands full with 4 horses to control. The standard bearer is wrestling to hold the horse tail banner upright and the archer is flourishing his bow. A great command piece I think.
TX 13 Another chariot pack. I have no list description for this but it's evidently another hero in a light chariot with driver. The hero is bald-headed, noble looking. He holds a sword in his right hand and is pointing with his left. A round shield is provided.

Three Musketeers

Finally, a pack for the Athos, Porthos and Aramis merchants amongst us.
TMX1 Dead, wounded, drunk? Guards and Musketeers. Flat out, slumped, kneeling, on hands and knees, calling for help or trying to ward offa blow. 5 figures, 4 with separate heads, empty scabbards or sheathed swords. Good for littering up the hexes in a duel, battlefield casualties or dioramas. Price around 3 pounds, again no list.

Excellent castings and detail. Send for some samples if you don't see enough in the drawings.
