You can use any period campaigning and have any nation represented by the armies as long as the historical ratios are held to. The actual combat units can be changed, division for brigades etc. The historical campaign will provide the guidelines for army ratios. FIRST CAMPAIGN MAP AND ARMIES: This is a hunt and destroy campaign. Neither side is sure where the other is. Campaign Map #1 is provided. It is Valley terrain. The Armies and their locations are as follows: [Do you recognize two campaigns? The actual campaigns are identified at the end of the article.] The Campaign starts at 6AM and complete dark comes at 9PM Corps and Army commanders may be placed with any units in their commands. Blue Army[Generally better quality than Red Army] Between 50-60,000 men I Corps (Sets up anywhere west and North of rows 6 and H inclusive)
II Corps (Sets up east and north of rows 10 and G)
Red ArmyBetween 60-70,000 men [Units may set up in the indicated square or squares adjacent to it.] I Corps (Sets up in E14)
II Corps
III Corps (B-19)
IV Corps ( L-12 or M-12)
V Corps (B-19)
VI Corps (L-12 or M-12)
Blue Army LOC is off H-I and southern edge of the map at P-2, 7 and 15.
There are only two victory conditions, one point for the destruction of the enemy army:
SECOND CAMPAIGN MAP AND ARMIES:This is a desperate race to defend or capture the Blue Army LOC by exiting the map. Lots of maneuvering in this one. Campaign Map #2 is provided. It is Hilly terrain. There is no bridge in C-3. It has been destroyed. E-1 and P-2 have fords. All roads are minor roads. Campaign starts at 7AM and complete dark comes at 7PM Blue Army34,000 (mostly average or green troops-cavalry included in count) I Corps (C-3 or/and D-4)
II Corps (C-3 or/and D-4)
Cavalry Corps 4,000 cavalry (M-5)
Red Army39,000 (Mostly veterans-cavalry included in count.) I Corps (F-2, H-3 and/or 1-3)
II Corps (F-2, H-3 and/or 1-3)
III Corps (D-2)
Cavalry Corps 6,000 cavalry (L-6)
Both players start knowing the location of the enemy by square. Blue is in C-3, D-4 and M-5, the Red in F-2, H-3, 1-3, D-2 and L-6. Actual strengths are not known other than where cavalry alone occupies: M-5 and L-6. The Victory conditions are: Enemy casualties (Twice the number of friendly casualties) One point
