What To Do

Cheat Sheet for Players

by Chris Engle

WHAT DO I DO? I CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING!!!

As a team, decide how you want to fight the battle.

Move your men up to your opponent's men and fight them.

Soldiers attack by swinging swords (melee) trying to push people over (the press) by charging into them (shock) or by shooting at them (fire).

Attacks are meant to disorder men and cause them to lose control.

Men get disordered when they, get spread out, get angry, become afraid, or become frustrated.

Disordered, out of control, tired, hungry, lost, isolated, cold men do not fight well.

Aggressive attacks can be used to disorder an opponent, push him out of the way, make him retreat, make him surrender or just wear him down. These attacks win only if the opponent gives way.

Assertive defense protects boundaries. Rigid defense can get pushed over. Such men are chased down when they run. Flexible defense can back up rather than get pushed over. Defenders wins if they stand their ground.

It is a good idea to stop occasionally to regroup your men, repair your weapons and rest.

Role play games use all the above rules but are mainly played by "play acting" situations. So the players says what he wants his character to say.

Players fill this out in the last 15 minutes of the session.

Who do you think won the game? Why?

Who do you think was the biggest loser? Why? Remember, no teasing or name calling! The lose picks the teams next time.

Who was the bravest? Why?

Who was the noblest? (Noble means generous, kind, humble and helpful) Why?

We will do a big dice rolling contest to see who wins each of these titles. If you pick yourself then the therapist will rule that a bad argument. Be a good sport and pick someone else!
