Gaulic players are restricted to the Gaul list. heavy and medium cavalry, gaesatae, and warriors do serve as mercenaries in the civilized world.
Player City States or Tribes = 1250 pts, 2 free generals. Up to 500 pts may be spent on veteran and elite units. Player countries may only have one elite unit unless they are fanatics.
In home country player loses 250 pts for each town he loses and 500 pts if he has lost his capital. If he is a barbarian, he loses his home territory if it is occupied for a year and he is unable to defeat the invader in that time. A player is conquered when he loses all cities and towns he controls.
Conquest Value = 150 pts per town or minor tribe, 250 pts per city or major tribe, 500 pts per metropolis. 100 pts from a conquered city or major barbarian tribe or 250pts from a conquered metropolis may be spent on veteran troops.
Non-Player Countries and Tribes Major states = 1000 pts - 1750 pts, Minor States = 500 pts - 1250 pts. States of 1000 pts or less have 1 general, 1000 pts - 1500 pts states have a 50% chance of having 2 generals and larger states always have 2 generals.
Garrisoning Conquered Territories Conquered territories require garrisons to hold them and to prevent rebellions. 50 pts worth are required to hold a minor state, 150 pts to hold a major state.
Extra Generals A player gets 2 generals to start with. For each major country he conquers he gets 1 extra general. Otherwise they cost 50 pts each.
Tributary States These countries offer submission and tribute paying a greater power off to leave them alone. A minor state or tribe will provide units of 50 pts - 60 pts value and a major state or tribe 200 pts - 250 pts worth of troops.
