Merrimack Miniatures
25mm Viking Long Ship

Review

Reviewed by Jack E. Shaw, Sr.

A few weeks ago, I obtained a 25mm Viking Ship, made by Merrimack Miniatures, and was greatly suprised by the quality. The Long Ship is resin with metal fore and aft pieces. The ship comes with a removable rowing deck that has supplies molded in and a mast. The Ship comes with 18 figures, 16 sitting rowing, one fig on the tiller and a ship's commander. I believe the figures are Old Glory and are very nice. Shields for along the side rails and oars also come with the Ship. The only minor problem I found was that the oar holes had to be made bigger to enable the oars to be attached to the oarsmen and then placed on the molded supplies as seats. I want to be able to remove the oarsmen and rowing deck to be able to place other Viking figures in the Ship and use it with Warhammer Ancients Rules.

All in all I really like the quality of the Viking Ship, and figure the price wasn't too much, I'd give it an A Plus.
