Review by Richard Brooks
I received figures from both Peter Helm at Redoubt Enterprises, 49 Channel View Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN22 7LN and their American distributor Doug Carroccio at Miniatures Service Center, 1525 Bridge 163, Yuba City, CA 95993 (916-673-5169). Surprisingly, they hardly overlapped. These figures are first class. What I like best about these figures are the originality of the poses particularly those fighting from on top or behind Mealie bags, and the casualties. These type figures are need for all colonial war ranges and not just from Redoubt. I have here nearly the entire Natal Caribiniers, these are quite nice, the best of the lot is ZX-16 firing from behind his dead horse, very good pose. Two other quite nice figures are ZX-66 and 67, both mounted, Durnford firing a pistol and Chelmsford with telescope. Both figures uniform detail is very nice and sharp. Chelmsford is a two piece fig so he can be positioned in a variety of ways. ZX-62 and 59 are also two piece figs for use with meali bags. ZX-68 a three piece fig, counting the horse is very nicely detailed with great expression. Two of my favorite mounted figures are ZU109 and 110, both the men and the new horses are great. My all time favorite is ZX-71, Gatling Gun and three Naval crewmen. It will be fun painting and mounting this for my desk at work. The other new figures from the list are all well detailed with some very nice poses. I just wish these were a little smaller. Other Reviews
