The Ottomans enter from the C-C edge of the table. They must do so, starting on one or both the roads that cross the table.

  • For each captured Ottoman pack animal, the Greeks receive 1 victory point.

  • For each element or pack animal stand that exits the table from the A-A line, 1 point.

THE REAL BATTLE

In the real battle, the Ottomans found all the passages blocked. During the next two days, they repeatedly tried to break through but in vain. Only a few hundred of troops escaped to the North. Mahmut Pasha took refuge to the castle of Korinth where he died of his sorrow, a few months later. The Revolution had been saved. That defeat, oblidged the Sultan to ask the help of the Egyptians and their regular troops, but that’s another story!

CONCLUSION

I have prepared the “Nemea 1822” scenario according to my set of rules “FREEDOM OR DEATH”.

There are also other sets of rules that cover the period and you would like to try.

  • The Continental Wars Society’s House rules (contact Mr. Ralph Weaver at: ralphcws@hotmail.com
  • A ruleset that is based on “Big Battalions” created by Mr. Scott Hansen ( shanse13@ford.com
  • The new “Horse,Foot and Guns” ruleset created by Phil Barker.

I am also maintaining a webpage on the GWI period. It contains several photos of my15mm figures and is easy to download.Have a look !

For a quick introduction to the period, I would suggest the series of articles I have published in “Miniature Wargames” magazine (issues 196,197,198- lots of colour plates and maps there!)
