The short but intense British intervention in Egypt against the Egyptian regular army and their Bedouin auxiliaries led by Arabi Pasha contains the makings of varied several scenarios which are larger than minor skirmishes but not so large as to not be playable in a reasonable amount of time or with a reasonable proportion of figures. Four such situations are presented here. No attempt has been made to present them in the format of any specific rules system, rather, the author has limited himself to setting forth the important facts and issues and leaves it to the judgment of his readers to adopt them as best suits themselves. The author regrets that, whilst the composition and leaders of the Indo-British forces involved can generally be determined, that has not been possible as regards the Egyptian forces.
