Europa as History: The Battle of the Camps, Dec 1940: In the surprise turn COMPASS Force infiltrates through the Enba Gap 18A:0619/0720 and destroys the Libyan units in their camps of Nibiewa and the Tummars (18A:0719). In the regular Dec I turn, O'Connor follows up this success with an attack on the Italians isolated at Sidi Barrani, destroying those forces as well. The British bombarded the fort with 25-lbr. guns while the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment's Matildas charged the place in best cavalry fashion.
Europa as History: The Fall of Tobruk, Jan II 1941. The Italians put more troops and efforts into defending Bardia than Tobruk. Manella's 22nd Corps, based on 61st Inf XX was too weak to adequately guard the perimeter of the fortress. Note that the Allied player leaves both 7th Armoured and 6th Austalian divisions in broken down form, to give flexibility for taking EX losses. Europa as History: Feb 1940, Beda Fomm. In the Allied player turn, O'Connor sends part of 7th Armoured XX across the base of the Cyrenaican peninsula, isolating the entire Italian 10th Army around Bengasi and Derna. Tellera and Bergenzoli launch a desperate breakout attempt, amassing the entire remains of the army to achieve a 3:2 attack +2 AECA, 4 ATEC A roll of '1 results in "AE." "Fox killed in open."
