Dec I 1942: Axis Exploitation Phase

By Jean-Guy Rathe

Assuming successful attacks (otherwise you will have to improvise and hope for rain), you must now prevent the remaining Allied stack in 3411 from escaping while discouraging any relief attempt.

Break down both Mot hv AA regiments into 1-10 battalions.

Break down the 12-10 Pz XX 10 into supported components.

Setting the Defense Perimeter
5-3-10* Pz III 73311Don't lose this guy!
3-10* PzG III 693111Blocks the coastal road.
3-10* Mot III 863410Add a 1-10 Mot hv AA II
4-6 Inf XX 13412Add a 1-10 Mot hv AA II
2-10 Mot III SV 2873312Add the 3-2-8 Pz II 501
2-10 Mot III 10B3211Add the 2-1-10 Pz II 190 (Beja)

The motorized units should take possession of the roads as far as possible before occupying their final positions.

Hex 3512 should contain the 2-6 Mar III SM and the 2-6* Inf III 47 if they are available; add a 1-10 Mot hv AA II.

Hex 3511 can have the last 1-10 Mot hv AA II. If you don't want to risk it, leave the hex vacant and add the 1- 10 to 3512; an enemy move into 3511 leads nowhere (but rails can be broken). The Allied player needs air support to attack meaningfully that 1-10. If things have gone your way, you'll be ready for any Allied weather roll on Dec II.
