Medical Corps of the Guard

7 surgeons and doctors with 8 adjutants, 2 second adjutants, 2 aspirants, 20 stretchers, a litter, 2 carriages or wagons, the necessary mules and 50 soldiers of the ambulance corps were to constitute the medical corps of the guard. The uniform was to be that of the 15th February and 23rd April 1846 and 1st July 1853 with the allegorical shield of the medical corps. The differences were to be crimson trousers and the soldiers of the ambulance corps were to have on their shako “Ambulancia de la Guardia”.
