Uniforms (Regulars) Based mostly on F.J.G. Ten RAA, "De Uniforrnen van de Nederlandsche Zee en Landmacht, hier to lande en in de Kolonien" The Hague, 1900. Dress Regulations September 23, 1814 The Officers of the various Staffs and Services to have -the same uniforms and distinctions as those in the Home Army. The Rank insignia to be the same used in the Home Army. "Rate of issue for Jasgers and Artillerymen: 2 pair Flemish linen trousers and 2 pair ditto ,gaiters, 1 linen jacket or veste, 1 "stock", 3 white linen shirts, 2 coloured shirts, 2 pair shoes, 2 combs, 3 brushes, 1 iron fork, 1 knife, 1 pack (backpack) of undyed cowhide. The overcoat to be carried. rolled over the right shoulder." (a footnote that in the colonies the pack could be replaced by locally-made linen "sack") January 15, 1815 First Dress Regulations: Jagers; dark green woolen short coatee with lapels and 2 rows of 7 brass ball buttons, yellow "slanting cut" (i.e. open) collar and yellow cuffs with patches, the skirts lined green and turned-back or: both sides, the pocket flaps vertical on the skirts, the collar piped with green, the front, skirts, pocket flaps and cuff patter piped with yellow "Wings" of dark green wool, trimmed in various ways; for corporals and men trimmed with yellow 'woolen "cords" a yellow-woolen "horn" in the center, N.C.O. had gold "cords" and gold-embroidered "horns", for all ranks edged with a woolen, fringe, yellow for flank companies and green for the jager companies. The rummers and hornists no fringe but instead "swallows-nests" of green wool trimmed with yellow braid and with yellow or green fringe according to the company for Corporal-drummers and Corporal-hornists the trim on the "wings" & "swallows-nests" and fringe to be of gold. Tight-fitting pantaloons of "Russian Kalmink" (?) , with gaiters of the same material. Shako with front peak, cockade without "loop", on the front a "horn" with the letter "W" within the "wind" and crown above, the "flankeurs" a green pompom with yellow top and yellow cords, the jagers a green pompom and no cords. Grey woolen greatcoat. Dark green sleeved "veste" or jacket with one row of buttons, short skirts and 2 buttons at the rear of the waist, yellow pipings. Dart green "barracks Cap" trimmed with yellow and with a leather peak. Adjutant-under officers (roughly "warrant officers") to be dressed as the Officers but with 2 "Centre-epaulets": no fringes and no sash. Arms & Equipment; Musket model 1815 No.2. (the shorter version of the standard musket, based on the French "model 1777 Corrigierte"; the N.C.O. to have rifles, with sword bayonets in Surinam, without on Curacao and the islands,: (sapper sabres). Black leather pouches, pouch belts scabbard for sabre and musket strap. Officers; Coat as the Jagers, on the skirt turnbacks gold embroidered "horns" (grenade for staff, one horn and one grenade for "Flankeur" officers). "Wings" with boullions or fringe according to rank. For undress and out of service, a green "frock", the turn back skirts piped with yellow and trimmed like the coatee, gold epaulets according to rank (I would guess probably trimmed like the coatee, but without lapels or wings). White and gray cashmere tight fitting pantaloons in "Suvarov" boots (i.e. hussar boots). Shako like the troops, but the peak with gilded edgeing, gilded "hon" and crown. Ditto for Lion's head and chinscales, cockade with gold loop.
