Dugald Dulgetty
I note that from the Dictionary of National Biography that Hurry (or Urry) was present at Brentford, 12th November, 1642. I think I read somewhere that there was a small force of Parliamentarian Horse present, and assume that he was the commander, Baillie, in his Letters & Journals, states that Hurry, after the skirmish was "for his stoutness and wisdom much cryed upon by the Londoners." Has anyone anything on the battle, or Hurry himself (perhaps an OBSCURE BATTLE?- Ed) More Queries Back to English Civil War Notes&Queries No. 4 Table of Contents Back to English Civil War Times List of Issues Back to Master Magazine List © Copyright 1984 by Partizan Press This article appears in MagWeb (Magazine Web) on the Internet World Wide Web. |
