The 1st Raider Battalion may deploy anywhere north of the Marine Setup Line, and west of the Raider/Parachute Battalion boundary. All stands are considered as entrenched at the start of the game.

1st Raider Battalion, with: Veteran, Morale: 10

    Battalion Headquarters, with:
      1 command stand
      1 support stand
      1 FO, 5th/11th (attached)

    Company A, with:

      1 command stand
      1 weapons stand
      1 recon infantry stand
      1 infantry stand

    Companies B and C, each with:

      1 command stand
      1 weapons stand
      1 recon infantry stand
      1 infantry stand
      1 MMG stand (attached from E)

    Company D, with:

      1 command stand
      1 infantry stand

    Company E, with:

      1 engineer stand with 1 -ton wire
      1 weapons stand

NOTES

1. Company D had been used to fill up losses in Companies A-C. Company E (Weapons) had its MMG Platoons detached to serve with companies B and C.

2. The historical deployment was with Companies B and C holding the front line, and with the remaining forces in reserve.

3. The wire may be placed at the start of the game, but may not be moved once placed.

4. The Raider Infantry stands function as Marine Infantry. Do not give them the Raider ROF of 2. That applies only to the 2nd Raider Battalion.

The 1st Parachute Battalion may deploy anywhere north of the Marine Setup Line, and east of the Raider/Parachute Battalion boundary. All stands are considered as entrenched at the start of the game.

1st Parachute Battalion, with: Veteran, Morale: 10

    Battalion Headquarters, with:
      1 command stand
      1 engineer stand with 1-ton wire
      1 support stand

    Company B, with:

      1 command stand
      1 parachute weapons stand
      2 parachute SMG stands

    Companies A and C, each with:

      1 command stand
      1 parachute weapons stand
      1 parachute SMG stand

NOTES

1. The historical deployment was with Company B holding the front line, and with the remaining forces in reserve.

2. The wire may be placed at the start of the game, but may not be moved once placed.

The following units were also present, and should be placed within six inches of their locations on the map. All stands are considered as entrenched at the start of the game:

Headquarters, 1st Marine Division, with Veteran, Morale: 10

    Headquarters, with:
      1 command stand
      1 jeep
      1 staff radio truck
      1 support stand

Headquarters, 11th Artillery Regiment, with Veteran, Morale: 10

    Headquarters, with:
      1 command stand
      1 jeep
      1 support stand

In addition, the following unit is off-board and controlled by the FO with the 1st Raider Battalion. The battalion has pre-registered fire on six points within daytime sight of the FO:

5th Battalion, 11th Artillery Regiment, with Veteran, Morale: 10

    3 105L23 howitzers
    3 gun crew stands
    6 tons ammunition total

American Reinforcements:

If either Marine Headquarters come under attack on the first night, add the following to each headquarters for the start of the Day Phase:

1st Battalion, 17th Marines with Veteran, Morale: 10

    1 engineer stand

The following force can be committed after the first Night Phase, starting at 1200 on the 13th, but use of it is counted for purposes of determining victory.

2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, with Veteran, Morale: 10

    Battalion Headquarters, with:
      1 command stand

    Companies E, F, and G, each with:

      1 command stand
      1 weapons stand
      3 infantry stands

    Company H, with:

      1 command stand
      1 81mm mortar stand (ds)
      3 MMG stands

If the Day Phase is played on the 13th, the Marines have use of the following aircraft. Aircraft may fly one hour per four hours, with battalion commanders of the Raiders and Paratroopers count- ing as FACs. They may only fly missions against enemy units in the open or on the edges of the jungle.
