In addition to the Army, elements of the United States Marine Corps were also sent to Korea. The first unit to arrive was the First Provisional Marine Brigade, which was built around elements of the 5th Marines. The Fleet Marine Force was stripped clean to flesh out the 5th, which still sailed for Korea under strength with the following TO&E.
