Electoral Saxony
During the 30 Years War

by Nick Nascati

By Jean Beleaubre, Illustrated by Jean Jaques Gilet,
Translation Notes by Pat Condray,
48 pp, paperback, Privately Printed.

Pat's name should by now, be fairly familiar to readers of THE COURIER. This little booklet is a valuable resource for wargamers interested in the 30 Years War. The booklet traces the fortunes of the Saxon army, from 1618, to its virtual destruction in 1648. The booklet includes 1 5 pages of flags for Saxon units, and 7 pages of uniforms.

It explains in detail the organization of the army, and the changes it went through during the 30 years of war. For anyone who wants to do a different Pike and Shot army, this is it! The Saxon army was very colorful, and will provide a very impressive display on the tabletop. There is more information packed into this little booklet then can be found in any number of books twice its size and significantly more expensive. For $4.00, the book is excellent value for Pike and Shot gamers, and I have a feeling that if it circulates, there may be a lot of little Saxon armies around at conventions, competing with mine. Pat printed the book at his own expense, and is offering it for sale direct from him. If you are interested, you can purchase the booklet by sending $4.00 to: Mr. Pat Condray, 8234 King's Arm Drive, Alexandria, VA 22308. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
