The rule book, which will sell for $19.95, contains tactical level rules for use at 1:10, 1:20 or 1:60 figure ratios in 15 or 25 mm. Organization and basing information is contained in two booklets, priced at $9.95 each. The first covers France, Austria, Russia, Prussia, and England, while the second covers everybody else. There will also be a series of campaign guides, containing special campaign rules and historical scenarios. Covered with Glory is also a set of tactical Napoleonic rules. Intended for games ranging in size from three or four battalions to a division on a side, these rules are designed to stress the problems of coordination within the brigade or division. Company-sized stands are used. Priced at $19.95, these rules are available from Modeler's Mart. Redoubt has begun releasing the first figures in a new 25 mm English Civil War line. These figures come with separate heads to allow increased variety and personality. The 30 different heads are divided into soft hat or helmeted types. The foot figures available to date include 3 officers, 4 ensigns, drummers, fifers, and 23 musketeers in a variety of poses and costumes. Shipbase III, the computer-mediated 20th century naval rules, have been upgraded to version 1.1. Free to all registered owners (send in those cards, guys!) the upgrade fixes some bugs, makes some changes in armor ratings, torpedo effectiveness, and damage control effectiveness, and allows search orders to be processed in increments of 12 minute, rather than I hour. Osprey titles include Leipzig 1813, Vicksburg 1863, and Tel el Kebir 1882 in the Campaign Series, Nelson's Navy and The Gurkhas in the Elite series, and Tiger I tank in the Vanguard series. Old Glory has a new load of 15mm figure packs out. Priced at $18.50 a bag, there are ACW infantry in either melee or energetic poses, SYW Prussian Musketeers, Fusiliers, or Grenadiers, and Jacobite Revolt clansmen charging. Russian Napoleonic cavalry packs now include Don, Ural, and Peasant Cossacks, Bashkirs, Dragoons, Curassiers, and Hussars available in command, reserve, or charging packs. Russian Uhlans are available with command, and there is a pack of Tyrolean Revolt figures. Schematica Software produces a variety of computer-assisted wargaming rules for the Atari ST and IBM machines. Ancients, Renaissance, Fantasy, and Empires (19th century) rules are available for army-level engagements, while there are medieval, modern, and universal skirmish games, the last giving you complete control over weapons characteristics and movement rates. There are also WWI and sailing naval games and a set of rules for 1/285 armor. There is also a Campaign World program which allows you to set up to 20 countries, using your own maps and point system, creating a context for your battles using the other programs. Tactical Conflict Systems continues to add to their already extensive line of terrain items. Among the dozens of new releases are a variety of stucco Medieval castle elements, a sub-Saharan African fort, mosques with a choice of minarets, covered bridge and 1800's factory, all in 15 mm, all sorts of field work and rubble elements in both 15 mm and 25 mm, radar installations, storage tanks, factory complex, and European storefront in 5 mm. The Eastern Front.- Armor Camouflage and Markings 1941 to 1945 covers not only the USSR and Germany, but the other powers as well, while D-Day to Berlin covers German, British, and American camouflage and markings. Each book is 96 pp long, 16 in color, with hundreds of B&W illustrations, for $12.95. Encyclopedia of German Tanks of WWII purports to cover every variant of every battle tank, plus other AFVs in 272 pp and 1037 B&W illustrations, for $39-95. Finally Panzer: a Revolution in Warfare is an analysis of the use of armor in WWII (192 pp, 300 illus, $19-95). Quality Castings' latest additions to their 15 mm WWII line include a German DFS 230 Airborne Assault Glider in resin, the Panzerbusch 2.8 cm AT gun on standard or airborne carriage or mounted on a Sdkfz 250/11 halftrack. The US 3/4 ton truck is now available in a version mounting a 37 mm AT gun, but the best news for Eastern Front gamers is the appearance of cavalry for both Germans and Russians, along with pack horses. Horse drawn limbers and wagons are promised soon, so the German Infantry Divisions can finally move. There are also a number of new platoon packs, with some new poses added to regular sets: British infantry, British armored infantry, French infantry, Italian motor rifle, Japanese Type A infantry, and USMC infantry.
