Badges of the British Army: 1820 to the Present by Fred Wilkinson This is the ninth edition of Fred Wilkinson's standard book on badges of the British army, updated with a current price guide. As anyone familiar with badge collecting will know, the book contains a brief history of British Army badges, but the bulk of it consists of plates illustrating over 400 different types. For anyone entering the field, the astonishing variety of regimental and other insignia can be nothing short of bewildering, and this hook is an invaluahle aid to deciding the age and designation of badges, and contains timely hints on spotting re-strikes and fakes.
