One of the weakest aspects of the hobby, in my opinion, has been the general lack of knowledge among gamers of the personalities and the aspects of game publishing. While most everyone is familiar with Jim Dunnigan or Donald Greenwood, few among us are well aware of some of the lesser giants in the field. It is with this aspect in mind that I have undertaken a new approach in game reviews. What I intend to do is to conduct an interview with the president of Battleline and one of their designers, followed by a review of their latest game, WOODEN SHIPS AND IRON MEN. Hopefully, by this method, two things will be accomplished; One, Battleline and its philosophy will be better understood and, two, a more in-depth understanding of WOODEN SHIPS AND IRON MEN (hereafter refered to as WS&IM) will be gained from such a review. In the following interview, Steve is Steven Peek, President of Battleline, Craig is Craig Taylor, designer of WS&IM, while Jack is myself. More Slice of Battleline Publications
