Nearly 3,000 members of the strangler cult have been captured or killed by person or persons unknown. The police forces of Highspire have been receiving letters containing information on Thuggee operations which so far have proved correct. No one has taken responsibility for these actions, but public opinion has been sympathetic to the offensive, as the cult of Kali has had a stranglehold on the population since before the Fourth Succession War.
