Luftwaffe, Anyone?

One game we see mentioned in great deal is AH's Luftwaffe. We wonder if there are enough people to support a Luftwaffe Society? Volunteers?

Stalingrad Tourney

The AWA Stalingrad Tournament is now underway.

Regional Advisory Committees

The Directorate has voted to establish a new group, the Perional Advisory Committee, in each region. The purpose of this body would be to handle AWA business in the region, run conventions, welcome new members in the hobby, and in general to perform regional work. Hopefully at some point in the future these groups will be headed by Regional Directors; meanwhile, we are looking for someone in each region to act as chairman for the region.

This need not be interpreted as a new task. In a number of regions, there are already a number of local clubs, groups, and persons doing such work as creating lists of local wargamers, sponsoring minicons, and trying to bring, new people into the hobby. Accepting a chairmanship would, for one of these people, be an extra honor, not an extra source of work.

Operation Contact

The AWA is now cooperating with Avalon Hill in operating Operation Contact, the Avalon Hill contact service for people who want to find opponents, a wargamng club, or someone who can help them with a particular game. Each month, we will print the names and addresses of the people who have approached AH, look for help. We encourage AWA members who live near the people or are interested in the same games to contact them.
