Extensive news on conventions, etc. Line of Departure (James Werbaneth, POB 508, Gibsonia PA 15044) $20/year, 24 pages, quarterly, board and computer gaming, news, game reviews, scenarios. Lone Warrior (Solo Wargamer’s Association, 1707 Ridge Road, Leavenworth KS 66048, $25 per year, quarterly, 42 pages plus covers). Solo more or less miniatures gaming, all periods, including fantasy, with rules, scenarios, references to paper models, etc. Midwest Wargamer’s Association Newsletter (Hal Thinglum, 22554 Pleasant Drive, Richton Park Ill 60471. 5.5x8.5”, bound, nearly 200 pages per issue. Bimonthly, $35 per year. MWAN is a massive piece of work, with ads, reviews, club lists,...and all sorts of other information on all parts of the miniatures hobby. MWAN is the magazine of record for miniaturists; there really is not a corresponding boardgaming zine. The latest issue had longer reviews of 14 games, and short reviews of close to a dozens. Game Collectors, game history, reviews of games especially obscure board wargames, data on prices and availability, lists of titles of old games.
