August 2003 marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Strategy Gaming Society, as “The American Wargaming Association”. In honor of the event, those of you who have memories of the history of the hobby and wish to contribute vignettes are invited to do so. Last month, our press date collided with a three-day weekend. Mail was to put it mildly slow. Mark Kramer’s Editorial got here much later than would reasonably have been expected, so this much we’ll have both his June and his July Columns. Joe Minton has resigned as Regional Director for New England (Regional 10). Peter deRosa, who gave us the Second Gulf War article some months ago, has volunteered to run for Regional Director, so a Special election is hereby called for Regional Director. If you live in Region 10 (New England) and wish to run for Regional Director, please send your nomination to George Phillies, 87-6 Park Avenue, Worcester MA 01605 phillies@4liberty.net. 508 754 1859 New Discounts Warlord’s Den, 402 North 5th Street, Lebanon PA is offering members a 5% discount on a trial basis. 717 277 0494 warlordsden.com warlordsden@pa.com Richard Downes, Celtic Fury Enterprises, 9 Belvidere Place, Montclair NJ 07042 973 783 7658(h) celticfury@lycos.com will offer a discount for SGS members. I do not believe that I can affect any positive change in the organization and I do not have the time or inclination to recruit new members into an organization that feels to me to be very broken. I personally wish you all of the best. I am happy to continue to host the website - just email me if you need any changes made. 2003 International Gamers Awards
