The Strategy Gaming Society is the best-kept secret in the Hobby. And that has got to change. The following are the first three auction items to be run through Strategist.

#1 Wooden Ships and Iron Men by Avalon Hill, donated by Sam Thornton.

This is the computer version of the popular age-of-sail board game. The game is on a CD-ROM and is for Wintel compatible machines having at least 8MB Ram (6 MB XMS free, 468DX or pentium processor with a speed of 33MHz or higher, VESA compliant SVGA card, double speed CD ROM drive, 29MB available on the hard drive, 100% Microsoft compatible mouse, 100% soundblaster compatible only. I realize that most systems out there now far exceed these requirements. The game is complete and in very good shape except for some box scuffing. The game retailed for $70 and is currently out of print.

#2 Wavell’s 30,000 Expansion Pack for Advanced Tobruk from Critical hit, donated by George Phillies.

This expansion pack has 12 additional scenarios three map overlays, two data cards, a sheet of 30 die cut counters and a full color map sheet. You must have the Advanced Tobruk game by Critical Hit to be able to use this expansion kit. The kit is new in a zip lock bag. There are remnants of a paper tag on the bag but no other wear.

#3 Line of Fire by BSO Games, donated by George Phillies.

This is a DTP effort produced by Richard Berg. The two battles covered are Lundy’s Lane (US in Canada in 1814) and Maipo (Jose de San Martin vs Spanish Royalists in 1818). The game has two folio-size maps, each in two pieces that require some cutting to fit, ten pages of rules, one page of charts, a sheet of cut and paste counters, and a sheet of whiteboard to mount them upon. The game is new in a mylar comic book bag, sealed with tape. The game sold for around $22; I do not know if it is in print or not. My experience with BSO games is that they do not generally reprint their titles beyond their initial offering. I do not know how far beyond preorders they extend their print run.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting.
