Reminds me of a Fistful of TOWs scenario I once ran. One of our more "serious" wargamers (who happens to prefer playing Americans) was given a modern armored battalion task force, with air cavalry on call. He was to probe into Czechoslovakia as a reconnaissance in force. Radio intercepts indicated that the Soviets were fighting something, possibly Czech regular units that had revolted. Eventually he discovered what the Soviets were fighting -- Godzilla.

Over the years, this poor guy fought UFOs in Air War, Godzilla (and soon, the Martian Tripods) in FFT, He also fought a giant squid in Harpoon, dinosaurs in Sword and the Flame, etc. I must say that he has taken it all in relatively good humor.
