Roleplay games aren't my real strongpoint, I've no real experience, in fact, in their play, but I can appreciate a well-put-together and creative set of rules and quality components. I am, admittedly then,a confessed 'collector' of many types and subjects of games! I recently discovered, through a friend, a game called Godlike, which--in short--centers on World War II's use by Germany of 'super-soldiers': troops who possess such useful skills as personal flight, bullet invulnerability, invisibility, firestarting, telekinesis, etc. The publisher goes to great lengths to disavow sympathy with the National Socialist cause, but in any case, the subject matter shouldn't be taken too seriously. Thus,in most cases in the game(s), history differs somewhat than that which actually occurred. It is a wonderful exercise in science fiction. The attractive hardbound special scenarios book I examined, titled Will To Power, was very well laid out and illustrated, and captured my attention and imagination. This game is a natural 'what-if?' extension to that and a refreshing breath of whimsy in an altogether usually-serious hobby. For those inclined to roleplaying,or interested in science fiction, I wholeheartedly recommend checking it out. Go to www.Godlikerpg.com for more details.
