If you have wished for SFB on a PC, this game is fantastic! Like you, I enjoyed the game but got tired of the rules. You shouldn't have to work so hard to have fun! Starfleet Command handles all the calculations for you, allowing you to get on with the gameplay. Real attention was given to the SFB rules. Players are allowed to (and routinely do) use T-bombs, Hit and Run Raids, Tractor Beams (mostly to intercept drones), ECM, ECCM, High-Energy Turns, EM, Scatterpacks, Wild Weasels, and the Hydrans even have fighters. The graphics are gorgeous and the game includes six races, the Federation, the Klingons, the Romulans, the Gorn, the Lyrans, and the Hydrans, as well as Orion Pirates (who are not playable but simply appear as bad guys in some missions). Those six races are fully playable and each as a custom interface, tutorial missions, theme music, special weapons, and a huge array of ships and variants. The game also has a dynamic campaign generator that produces missions for you based on your location in the galaxy and the political state of the galaxy at that time. I couldn't recommend this game more highly, although if you are a SFB expert you will doubtlessly find it lacking in some particulars. This is, without doubt, the best "starship combat" game for the PC ever.
