Collaborative Filtering Systems

Idea

by Matthew K Gray

Over the past few years, there has been a lot of interesting "collaborative filtering" systems. These are systems that help recommend content based on the opinions of others. These schemes have been applied to music (Firefly), books (Barnes & Noble, among others), movies (many), and I thought it would be nice to have a similar service for board games. So, I looked at some of the papers and picked an algorithm I could quickly implement, and set it up. I encourage people to try it out, rate some games, and see if it is any good at generating real recommendations.
