Peter Pig Figures

Review

by Jeff Hancock

Peter Pig's figures are large 15mm and very clean - they dry brush very easily with a dark undercoat. I do not own any of the African vehicles yet, but all the WW2 PP vehicles I own are pure metal - I believe resin is only used by Martin for the German Maus, various buildings, and trains. The rules look very interesting for game and scenario set-up (country name and flag generators, political maneuvering, etc.) and the combat rules are very simple looking, as a "tank" is just a "tank", whether it is a T-55, M-48, T34/85, etc.

Overall a fun looking set of rules complimented with good 15mm figures that paint up well. Not everyone's "cup of tea" what with all the "political correctness" floating about, but I'm looking forward to my first game, especially after seeing the movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy" this past week on TV! I also recommend you try to get your hands on Volumes 130 (July 1998) and 135 (December 1998) of Wargames Illustrated, which have articles about using the rules in a campaign setting, and updating the rules for the 1990's. I understand volume 133 also has an article, but I have not seen it yet.

Good luck - you'll find photographs of the AK-47 figures in many issues of Wargames Illustrated and on Peter Pig's web page.
