Printing and Elections

by George Phillies

In no particular order, your editor had serious printer problems, two SF conventions, a week of the intestinal flu...and thus ended up behind schedule. We will catch up.

Congratulations to the Winners in our Elections!

Congratulations to our new Officers: President Ken Ellis (12 votes), Membership Secretary Brian Train (12 Votes), Treasurer George Phillies (10 votes, with 1 each to Bill Sariego and Tom Oleson), Editor George Phillies (with 2 votes to Perry Moore), and Regional Directors 1-Paul Meyer (1 vote), 2-Ken Ellis (1 vote), 5-Mark Nies (2 votes), 7-Andy York (1 vote), and 10-George Phillies(1 vote).

Ties requiring run-offs (if more than one candidate is left) are in Region 11 (1 vote each for John Kula and Ferro Gianpietro) and for Vice President (1 vote each for Andy York, John Farewell, and Brian Train).

Today I shall float a few ideas, which I am also floating to the Directorate for its consideration:

    1) Web Presence: The SGS should establish a web presence with a registered domain (as it happens, www.sgs.org is already taken — it’s the Saint George’s School.)

    2) Old issues: There are very old issues that are no longer in print. Rather than resorting to photocopying, we should put the old out of print issues into print by putting them up on www.magweb.com. Magweb actually pays game magazines in proportion to how many hits they get, so we would actually get some income out of this. I would estimate that the magweb income will approximately cancel the cost of the web presence.
