Two big "thumbs up" as far as I'm concerned. It is an easy game to get into and a challenge to win for either side. Since there are very few rules exceptions, it is a good, clean design that is easy to learn and play. The rules correctly give an advantage to Morgan's rifles, but they can get wiped out quickly if not handled correctly. One thing you'll realize when you play this game, these are not Napoleonic cannons. The battle will instead be decided by the player who uses his infantry most effectively. The map and counters are also some of the best I've ever seen from any game company. What you have here is a game that can be easily enjoyed in an evening and is very historically accurate. Too often we look at games like this and dismiss them as "Introductory games" or "Beer and Pretzel games" and beasts like "Home Before the Leaves Fall" and "DAK" are held as bastions of historical accuracy. Don't sell Saratoga short. I'm an 18th Century warfare fanatic and I was impressed by how good a game and an historical simulation this game is. I hope GMT does many more games using this system because it's accurate, fun and doesn't take a lifetime to play to completion.
