Long-time SGS Member Michael McCausland passed away April 22, 1997 of congestive heart failure. He was 52. He wrote letters, poems and articles for many publications. Most of all, he loved to read; he also enjoyed games, movies, and collecting everything. He learned to read at age 4, when his 6 year old brother taught him. At 6 he read Shakespeare; in 2nd grade he read Beowulf. He counted money in Ancient Sumerian. He worked at his family’s IGA store until he collapsed at the desk, having worked 28 years without a vacation. Cards may be sent to Kay McCausland, 230 East Myrtle Street, Virginia Ill 62691.
