The R'lye We hear from Chaosium Games (Shannon Appel, chaos ium@chaosium.com that the new 5.5 edition of Call of Cthulhu is finally at the printers! Chaosium has seen the bluelines [the step after the Galley proofs; often omitted] of this 288 pg.revised edition, and are tenatively expecting it back around the 16thof June. It should be in stores by the end of the month, and Chaosium promises to have copies at Origins. This new edition has been thoroughly revised to improve readability and has some cool new bits, like the entire "The Call of Cthulhu" story, a short section on alien tech, and more. In answer to rumors Chaosium will be at GenCon; Chaosium will be at Origins; and Chaosium products are still available from all distributors. The new Glorantha RPG, Hero Wars, has now been previewed in a playtest form at GloranthaCon 7. UK fans can see a preview at Convulsion Goes Fourth, this Summer. The actual publication of the game is scheduled for 1999, but in the meantime you can keep up to date on news concerning it at the Glorantha web site: http://www.glor antha.com.

Encyclopedia Cthulhiana, 2nd Ed. The complete reference to the Cthulhu Mythos, from Abbith to Zvilppoggua. This second edition of this reference guide has been expanded and revised. New features include scores of new entries, thumbnail illustrations of the most important signs and symbols, a timeline of the Cthulhu Mythos spanning billions of years, and a brand new Harry Fassl cover. Many entries have been revised to reflect changes in Chaosium’s interpretations of the Cthulhu Mythos, and the infamous Necronomicon appendices have been greatly expanded. Also present for the first time is "A Brief History of the Cthulhu Mythos", which examines the evolution of the genre, from the 1920s to today. 448 pages. ISBN 1-56882-119-0.
