Welcome and Mea Culpa

First, apologies to David Pulver. His name was somehow omitted as author of the “Help With Ancient Wargaming” Article. Second, public thanks to Dr. Ferro Gianpetro, who has joined the list of volunteer typists. As a result of the hard work of our volunteers, the stock of older non-electronic manuscripts has been completely typed. Third, thanks to Ken Ellis for volunteering to Serve the Hobby! by volunteering to run for SGS President. Finally, thanks to every member of the SGS who is helping his club and hobby grow by recruiting members into the SGS.

By the way, we still need a good person to become Treasurer.

On a positive note, welcome to Peter de Rosa, who joins us as Associate Editor for Electronic Contacts. Peter has volunteered to search the web, looking for articles and contacts leading to gaming web pages around the world. Everyone doesn’t use computer electronic communications, of course, and Strategist will remain safely on paper for the foreseeable future, but electronic contacts are a wonderful way to reach people who you otherwise can’t get into touch with.. I am gradually stabilizing Strategist format. I hope you like the new, newspaper-of-the-hobby appearance and the perhaps longer length. Comments are welcomed! George Phillies, Editor

Conventions

This column is an experiment, in reporting on gaming events hither and thither that are not yearly like conventions, but that instead happen on a weekly or monthly basis, like club meetings. We obviously can’t cover everything every month, but will try to return to events. Unless it’s a short walk, try to call ahead. Reliability of these entries is not guaranteed:
