This is the definitive quote from our old Civ games (we played before AdvCiv existed). Whenever he attacked someone, my good friend Karl "Warmonger" Friesen would say, "Well, they were just going to die anyway." We played Civ with lots of (minor) conflicts. I then joined a peace-loving AdvCiv gaming group when I moved. The first game was quite humorous; midway through the game, I played an opening round that I thought was quite typical, burning 6 extra guys to stop 3 builds by my neighbors. I'd never seen such pale faces and looks of shocked indignation! I can say, though, that being the only warmonger in a group of peaceniks didn't work at all well (Why trade with him? He's a mad dog, attacking everyone!)
