Publisher Found

Leslie Geraty, 380 W. Main Street, Waterbury Conn 06702 has agreed to take over the task of publishing STRATEGIST. Every month, Ken Ellis will be preparing the issue and mailing the page masters to Leslie, who will have the task of printing and mailing the issue. I expect that this will give us better and less expensive issues; at least once things settle down.

COMPUTER OPERATOR WANTED!

Esteemed members! Your Treasurer has another request.

I am in the habit of sending out copies of the SGS advertising flier to game stores, hobby outlets, clubs, gaming conventions, etc. Indeed, many of you first heard about the SGS through 'these' means. I am looking for people who would be willing to maintain a mailing list of these places, so that at some point we could remail relatively painlessly. At the moment, I hand address everything. The general scheme is simple, requiring only a member with use of a computer that runs MS-DOS and has a floppy drive (5.25", low density, preferred but not mandatory). I will send you a copy of the shareware database system that I use. Every so often I will send a set of addresses of clubs, etc., that you will type into the data base. Every so often, say once or twice a year, a copy of the data base files will come back to me so that I may print mailing labels and send out a fresh set of announcements to all these people. Please write me if you are interested.

Strategist

Is published monthly. Send all articles, reviews, news, committee reports, etc. to the Editor: Ken Ellis, Rte. 4 Box 171, East Bend NC 27018. Send all subscriptions, renewals, and address changes to the Treasurer, George Phillies, 87-6 Park Avenue Worcester MA 01605.

If possible, submissions should be typed or computer-printed in cameraready format. Manuscripts should' be prepared in a column width of 5.25", single spaced, in fonts no smaller than 10 point (12 characters to the inch). Leave a blank line between paragraphs. Dot matrix printer output does not reproduce and will need to be retyped by the Editor.

SGS members receive a one-month membership extension for every 2/3 page of contribution published in Strategist. Non-members receive a free copy of the issue in which the article appears.

SGS members may place free advertisements in Strategist on a spaceavailable casis. Ads should be typed, single spaced, to a width of 5.25", with a length of under 100 words.

Membership, rates: USA $11.99. Canada $US 13.50. Mexico $14. Other countries: Surface Mail $17. Air Mail $20. Additional persons at a single address at which a Regular Member is resident may join for $1/year. These household/club members are entitled to vote, and receive the full club membership, except that only one issue of Strategist is sent to the address. Note that American banks are generally not prepared to exchange foreign currency (including Canadian), so make all payments in US dollars, with checks drawn on a US bank. In recent practice, European members have successfully renewed by mailing US currency to the Treasurer; the wisdom of this practice may depend on your postal service.
