The Baby Blitz may be simulated using West End's RAF game. With the exception of the He-177 air units, air units from RAF may be used to simulate this campaign. Wherever possible, existing game equipment and mechanics have been used. Unless otherwise mentioned, all RAF rules are in effect and if there is any dispute between the variant material presented in this article and the regular game rules, the game rules should take priority in resolving the dispute. Players will need to make unit counters for the He-177 air units used in the campaign using felt-tipped pens and blank counters following the format presented below: AVAILABLE FORCESBritish: Five Blenheim units.
SCENARIO SPECIAL RULES:1. Play continues for 29 turns or until one side achieves its victory conditions. 2. Each turn consists only of night raids. All night raids are conducted as per rule 18. 3. German terror strategy is in effect. 4.All Blenheim units are considered to be available for interception and are placed in a night patrol box. 5. All Blenheim units have a combat value of 3 for this scenario. The Blenheims actually represent advanced models of that aircraft together with other night fighter aircraft. 6. When conducting night raid interception and combat, conduct one interception attempt for each Blenheim unit on patrol. Each Blenheim unit may conduct one combat per night. 7. Add one to all interception attempts made on the Night Raid Interception Table (18.6). 8. Historically, German targets for Operation Steinbock were limited to London-city, Southend-city, Farnborough-city, Rochester-industry, Southampton-industry, Canterbury-industry, Faversham-industry. VICTORY CONDITIONS:The Germans win by inflicting damage on British industry. The Germans total the number of victory points lost by the British player on the Night Bombing Table (18.7). In addition, any British industrial damage result is worth 3 victory points for this scenario. These points are totalled and recorded on the victory point track. The Germans win by scoring 30 points of loss on British industry. The British player wins by preventing the Germans from achieving their victory conditions and by eliminating at least 10 gruppes of German aircraft. Any other result is a draw.
