Muffling to Blucher Letter

Large Illustration (slow: 181K)

Reproduction with the kind permission of the Geheimes Staatsarchiv preussischer Kulturbeasitz, Berlin, this is a letter from Muffling to Blucher written in Brussels at 7 p.m. on the 1511 June 1815. The Cover to the letter (now missing) bore a British, not a Prussian seal, the word 'immediate' and three crosses, indicating that it was to be delivered urgently. This indicates it was written with Wellington's approval and taken by one of his couriers to Blucher. (GStA Rep 92, A40 Fol. 93).
